Squire Patton Boggs appoints Galileo Pozzoli to reopen Milan office
"Squire Patton Boggs has recruited Galileo Pozzoli to reopen its Milan office; Pozzoli and his team will work in international arbitration and energy (oil & gas)."
Galileo Pozzoli is a lawyer with a long international career. Born in 1972, he holds degrees in Political Science and in Law from the University of Milan and attended Fordham Law School in New York. He worked in New York for around ten years at Brown Wood (today Sidley Austin) and then at Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle. At Curtis he spent almost twenty years, the last eleven as Italy managing partner. Pozzoli has developed a specialist practice in international arbitration in the oil & gas sector, representing states and national oil companies in large investment arbitrations. He accepted Squire Patton Boggs’ invitation in autumn 2019 and, on 1 January 2020, the Milan office opened with him and the four partners; the office has grown to about thirty professionals (six partners and 25 associates) focusing on international arbitration, energy, corporate M&A, labour and litigation. Pozzoli subsequently joined Squire Patton Boggs’ global board, becoming the first Italian and the only European member of that governance body.
The four partners who joined with Pozzoli came from Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle and joined Squire Patton Boggs as partners to form the initial Milan team.
