Ed Meikle joins gunnercooke as Intellectual Property Partner
"Ed Meikle has joined gunnercooke LLP as an Intellectual Property Partner and will work in the firm's Intellectual Property practice, attracted by gunnercooke's flexible working model and streamlined onboarding."
Meikle arrives at gunnercooke after many years in traditional private practice. He is an Intellectual Property specialist and is joining gunnercooke at partner level. The move was motivated by the firm’s flexible working model, which he said offers greater freedom in client selection, reduced administrative tasks and improved efficiency.
In his early weeks Meikle reported a seamless transition supported by the firm’s onboarding and administrative teams. The onboarding team assisted with practicalities including setting up a data room and facilitating the electronic transfer of client files, and secretarial support helped with opening new files. He also cited regular introductions to colleagues across the Intellectual Property team, a partner buddy in Nicky Androsov and inclusion in monthly IP catch-up calls and Teams meetings with European colleagues as important to his integration.
Meikle also noted practical advice he received prior to joining, including arranging an accountant during his notice period, which he said helped smooth the move to gunnercooke.
