Cleary Gottlieb Adds Partner Jennifer Morton to Financial Institutions Practice

Jennifer Morton and Igor Kleyman have joined Cleary Gottlieb’s financial institutions practice in New York. Morton joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the practice; Kleyman joined the practice on April 20 as a partner.

Jennifer Morton brings more than 20 years of experience advising clients on complex regulatory and transactional matters affecting broker‑dealers. Her practice focuses on broker‑dealer and securities market regulation and transactions, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, SEC‑registered offerings and private placements, digital assets and blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, restructuring and expansion of business operations, and trading and markets issues. She joins Cleary as a partner; prior to joining the firm she was a partner at another international law firm in New York. Morton is recognized by Chambers USA as a leading financial services lawyer and was the 2024 Women in Business Law Financial Regulation Lawyer of the Year according to the International Financial Law Review.

Igor Kleyman joined Cleary Gottlieb’s financial institutions practice on April 20 as a partner, focusing on regulatory and transactional matters related to digital assets, artificial intelligence, and fintech.

These strategic hires follow the earlier addition of two senior capital markets partners to Cleary this year and reflect the firm’s continued investment in its financial services capabilities.
