McDermott Will & Schulte scales restructuring platform with addition of Lindsay Barca
"Lindsay Barca joins McDermott Will & Schulte as a partner in its restructuring practice in New York, working on Chapter 11, workouts, distressed M&A and mass tort-related restructurings."
Barca joins the firm as a partner in its restructuring practice and will be based in the New York office. She brings dual-sided restructuring experience, having represented both creditor groups in billion-dollar restructurings and debtors in contested Chapter 11 cases involving mass tort liabilities and operational turnarounds. Her work spans Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court workouts, distressed M&A and cross-border insolvencies.
Her track record includes managing a sale process for a major orthopedic device manufacturer while addressing more than $350 million in debt alongside billions of dollars in alleged tort liabilities, and resolving $870 million in funded debt for a cosmetics company while resolving complex licensing arrangements. Barca’s background includes advising private equity sponsors, DIP lenders, plan sponsors and creditor groups on liability management, bankruptcy cases and recovery strategies.
Her arrival follows the recent hire of partner Gregg Galardi and is intended to strengthen McDermott Will & Schulte’s distressed practice as the firm positions itself for complex, high-value reorganizations.
