Garrigues appoints Juan Grangel as partner to lead Zaragoza employment practice
"Garrigues hires Juan Grangel as partner to lead its Aragón employment practice in Zaragoza. He joins from Baker McKenzie’s Madrid employment practice and is a Labour and Social Security Inspector on leave."
Grangel joins from Baker McKenzie, where since 2023 he served as of counsel in the Madrid employment practice. He is a Labour and Social Security Inspector currently on leave of absence and holds a law degree from the University of Zaragoza; he returns to his home region of Aragón to lead Garrigues’ employment practice.
His career spans private practice and senior public administration roles. He served as head of the Health and Safety Unit at the Territorial Directorate of the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate in La Rioja, and as team leader at both the Deputy Directorate General for Inspection on Social Security, Irregular Economy and Immigration and the Territorial Directorate of the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate in Madrid. Between 2018 and 2020 he directed the National Office for the Fight against Fraud and sat on the board of the European Labour Authority, representing Spain on the European Platform Tackling Undeclared Work.
