Portolano Cavallo strengthens administrative law practice with Paolo Giugliano

"Paolo Giugliano joins Portolano Cavallo as partner to bolster its administrative law practice, focusing on administrative litigation, public procurement, competition and regulated markets in Digital‑Media‑Tech and Life Sciences‑Healthcare."

Paolo Giugliano has joined Portolano Cavallo as a partner to strengthen the firm’s administrative law practice, with particular emphasis on litigation. With his appointment the firm’s partners rise to 23.

Before joining Portolano Cavallo, Paolo Giugliano was a partner at Cintioli & Associati, where he worked for more than ten years. He specialises in administrative law and administrative litigation, as well as public procurement, competition and regulated markets, with specific reference to electronic communications, competition, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and healthcare. He has provided assistance in numerous proceedings before administrative authorities including AGCOM, AGCM and the Italian Medicines Agency, and before the Presidency of the Council of Ministers on Golden Power matters. Giugliano also carries out academic activity, most recently as a lecturer in competition law and digital communication at the Università Internazionale di Roma (UNINT).

Elisa Stefanini and Ernesto Apa, partners at Portolano Cavallo, commented that the continued expansion of matters under the remit of independent administrative authorities and the increasing regulatory complexity make Giugliano’s broad and deep experience in administrative law and litigation a further asset for the firm’s clients in the Digital‑Media‑Tech and Life Sciences‑Healthcare sectors.
