Negron is a skilled litigator and business adviser whose practice includes complex business litigation, healthcare and corporate law, construction and insurance disputes, and fiduciary duty claims involving corporate directors and officers. He joins Gunster as a shareholder to bolster the firm’s business litigation capabilities.
He most recently served as general counsel, senior vice president and corporate secretary of The GEO Group, Inc., a publicly traded company with a global workforce of approximately 20,000 employees and an enterprise value exceeding $3.5 billion. In that role he advised on legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters, partnered with business leaders, and managed litigation with a focus on overall business strategy.
Negron also brings extensive public service experience. He served as president of the Florida Senate from 2016 to 2018 and was a member of the Florida Senate from 2009 to 2018, following service in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2006. During his legislative tenure he chaired both the House and Senate Appropriations Committees.
He earned his B.A. from Stetson University, his J.D. from Emory University School of Law, and his M.P.A. from Harvard University.
