Vincenzo Giannantonio joins McDermott Will & Schulte as co-managing partner for Italy
"Vincenzo Giannantonio and his team join McDermott Will & Schulte; Giannantonio will serve as co-managing partner for Italy to help strengthen the firm’s Italian platform and European practice."
Vincenzo Giannantonio has spent ten years at Gitti and Partners and will enter McDermott Will & Schulte with the seniority of co-managing partner for Italy. He and his team are moving from Gitti and Partners to join McDermott’s Italian office.
Gitti and Partners has stated that Giannantonio’s departure does not alter the firm’s strategic trajectory. The firm will continue to pursue growth as an independent boutique, maintaining its positions across its main practices, including M&A, banking and finance, capital markets, real estate, energy, restructuring, complex litigation, life sciences and public law, and will develop both internally and externally in line with its founding values.
McDermott Will & Schulte is accelerating an already sustained expansion strategy. The firm has registered significant growth in the United States and globally and reported revenues of approximately $3 billion in 2025. In Europe McDermott is established in key jurisdictions such as the United Kingdom, France and Germany and is now aiming to further strengthen its presence in Italy.
The arrival of Giannantonio and his team is framed as part of McDermott’s strategic plan to consolidate its European platform and reinforce its Italian offering.
Gregorio Gitti, chairman of Gitti and Partners, thanked Vincenzo Giannantonio for his contribution to the firm’s growth and wished him well for his future career, reiterating the firm’s commitment to continue its development as a boutique of excellence. Giancarlo Castorino, head of McDermott’s Milan office, noted that the Milan office has experienced significant growth over the past year and that the addition of Giannantonio and his team represents a natural continuation and acceleration of that process. Vincenzo Giannantonio expressed his gratitude to Gregorio Gitti and the Gitti and Partners team for ten memorable years and said he looks forward to the new challenge at McDermott to help consolidate the firm’s position as a leading global player in the legal sector.
