Cleary Gottlieb Appoints Igor Kleyman as Partner in Financial Institutions Practice

Igor Kleyman has rejoined Cleary Gottlieb as a partner in the firm’s financial institutions practice, where he will focus on digital assets, artificial intelligence (AI), and fintech. He is based in New York.

Kleyman rejoined Cleary after nearly a decade advising clients on digital assets and AI matters. He enters the firm with the seniority of partner. Most recently, he served as Head of Responsible AI Governance for Amazon. Prior to that, he was Head of Legal for Digital Assets at Nasdaq and served as Associate General Counsel at Gemini Trust Company. In those roles he engaged with a wide array of U.S. and European regulators on novel financial technology policy issues and helped develop new products and structures.

Kleyman began his Cleary career advising global financial institutions as part of the firm’s financial products and markets group and returns to contribute to Cleary’s multidisciplinary digital assets group, which was named a 2025 Law360 Practice Group of the Year.
