Wilson Sonsini Adds Former DOJ Antitrust Trial Attorney Julia Tarver Wood

Wood joins Wilson Sonsini from the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, where she served as senior litigation counsel and was lead trial counsel in a major Section 2 conduct case. She joined the DOJ in 2023 and brings experience handling high-stakes antitrust enforcement matters.
Prior to her time at the DOJ, Wood was a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. A longtime litigator, her practice focuses on antitrust litigation and complex regulatory matters, with substantial experience in technology and financial services disputes. Her decades of experience include defending global financial institutions in multidistrict antitrust actions; handling civil and regulatory disputes arising from the financial crisis; representing technology companies and life sciences innovators in bet-the-company litigation; and serving as lead trial counsel in a series of high-stakes cases. Wood has also been active in pro bono work, including representation of detainees at Guantanamo Bay and individuals facing capital punishment.
