Pinsent Masons appoints Leticia Sitges as Legal Director in Energy

"Pinsent Masons appoints Leticia Sitges as legal director in its Madrid energy practice; she will work in public and regulatory law covering the energy, environment and mining sectors."

Leticia Sitges has joined Pinsent Masons as legal director in its energy team in Madrid, led by Hermenegildo Altozano.

Sitges specialises in public and regulatory law and has in-depth expertise in regulated sectors such as energy, environment and mining. She joins Pinsent Masons as legal director from Andersen, where she served as head of the public and regulatory law practice, and before that she spent more than 11 years in the regulatory department of Latham & Watkins. Throughout her career she has regularly advised on corporate transactions with a strong regulatory component, with a particular focus on the energy sector; her experience includes regulatory risk analysis in due diligence processes, advising on the negotiation of insurance policies to cover regulatory risks identified in transactions, and the analysis of complex environmental contingencies, including matters related to soil and groundwater contamination, bringing a technical and strategic approach to demanding regulatory contexts.

Hermenegildo Altozano said Sitges’s arrival represents a key reinforcement for the firm’s Energy practice in Spain, highlighting her deep knowledge of the Spanish regulatory framework and her experience in complex sector transactions as significant value for clients.
