Demarest appoints Eduardo Ferreira as partner in environmental practice
"Demarest hires Eduardo Ferreira as a partner in its Environmental practice; he will work on environmental litigation and advisory, focusing on socio-environmental issues, agribusiness and mining."
Ferreira holds a master’s degree in Diffuse and Collective Rights from PUC-SP, a specialization in Environmental Law and Strategic Sustainability Management, and a law degree from the same institution. He has more than 25 years of experience in the environmental field and has worked at leading law firms in the market.
In the Environmental practice, his work will focus primarily on conducting judicial and administrative litigation and on providing advisory services on socio-environmental issues in coordination with the firm’s other practice areas. His activities include developing pre-litigation strategies related to challenges in the regular conduct of business activities, negotiating with authorities and regulatory agencies to seek consensual solutions in highly complex situations, and managing environmental crises.
Ferreira’s professional background includes advising companies across various sectors, particularly agribusiness and mining, handling cases involving contaminated sites, and conducting negotiations and agreements with public authorities and the Public Prosecutor’s Office in contexts that require dialogue between public and private stakeholders. His arrival strengthens Demarest’s Environmental practice, which comprises partners including Marcelo Azevedo and a team of 20 attorneys; the firm now has a total of 114 partners.
