DLA Piper strengthens labor and employment capabilities with addition of Partner Josh Elefant
"DLA Piper adds Partner Josh Elefant to its Corporate group to bolster labor and employment work for high-growth technology and life sciences companies, focusing on employment matters and transaction-related work."
Elefant will strengthen DLA Piper’s labor and employment capabilities for high-growth technology and life sciences companies across corporate and private equity matters. He advises clients across multiple industries on a broad range of employment matters, including hiring, separations, policies, investigations, whistleblower complaints, and wage-and-hour compliance. His practice is closely integrated with corporate transactions and includes pre-acquisition due diligence, preparation and negotiation of transaction agreements, and preparation of employment agreements and ancillary documents such as non-competes and retention agreements. He has also represented clients in single-plaintiff and class action matters and is experienced in all phases of litigation, including depositions, motion practice, trial, and arbitration.
Rita Patel, Co-Chair of the firm’s Transactions Specialists practice, said Elefant’s experience will strengthen the firm’s ability to support clients through complex employment issues tied to transactions, growth, and change. DLA Piper, with more than 1,000 corporate lawyers globally, said the hire enhances its capacity to advise clients across all stages of development.
