Kara Fischer Joins Holland & Knight as Partner in Public Policy & Regulation Group

Ms. Fischer brings more than 15 years of public policy and regulatory experience. She will advise transportation, logistics, infrastructure and emerging technology clients on federal government engagement strategies, and provide counsel on regulatory risk, investigations, enforcement, oversight and incident response. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, she served as acting deputy staff director and senior counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation under Chair Maria Cantwell. She also served at the U.S. Department of Transportation as deputy chief of staff and principal deputy assistant secretary for governmental affairs under Secretary Pete Buttigieg, where she shaped enterprise priorities and led agency-wide government affairs across a $600 billion innovation and infrastructure agenda. Earlier in her career, Ms. Fischer was a senior trial attorney and policy advisor at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, where she led high-profile litigation, investigations and regulatory initiatives.
