AGG Adds Luis Arandia and Clinton Yu to Co-Chair International Trade Practice in Washington, D.C.
"AGG in Washington, D.C. adds Luis Arandia and Clinton Yu as co-chairs of its International Trade practice, focusing on customs and tariffs, trade remedies, export controls, sanctions and FDI reviews."
The pair will co-chair AGG’s International Trade practice and will focus on customs and tariff matters, trade remedies, export controls, economic sanctions, and foreign investment national security reviews. They join AGG as co-chairs of the practice.
Arandia and Yu have worked together for the past four years and also overlapped at a past firm in Houston, Texas. Combined, they bring more than three decades of international trade experience to the firm.
Given the uncertain and evolving nature of international trade policy, the two will provide leadership as companies confront frequent policy changes, shifting export controls, and complex enforcement challenges. Luis Arandia highlighted the significance of a recent Supreme Court ruling on tariffs levied under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), noting client demand for guidance on the development of the IEEPA tariff refund process. He said the team is advising and preparing clients for IEEPA tariff refund claims and helping companies reassess compliance strategies, supply chain positioning, and program eligibility in light of recent administrative incentives and Section 232 drawback refund opportunities for certain metal products.
