Mr. Powers joins Holland & Knight's Corporate, M&A and Securities Section as a partner. He was previously a partner at Goodwin Procter.
Mr. Powers focuses his practice on private equity and growth equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and leveraged buyouts. He has extensive experience representing private equity and growth equity funds in connection with platform and add‑on acquisitions and primary and secondary investments, including private tender offers. He also represents portfolio companies on a wide variety of matters, including M&A and corporate finance transactions, and advises on corporate governance and securities law matters. He regularly advises companies in industries such as software and information technology, business and information services, healthcare, education and consumer products.
Mr. Powers is a frequent speaker on corporate finance and private equity topics, has served on the board of directors of the Association for Corporate Growth's Boston Chapter, and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law and by The Boston Globe on its Best Lawyers in New England list. He received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and his B.A. from The University of Vermont.
