BakerHostetler Welcomes Spencer S. Persson to Digital Assets and Data Management Practice in Los Angeles
"Spencer S. Persson has joined BakerHostetler in Los Angeles as a partner in the Digital Assets and Data Management Practice Group, working on privacy and digital risk class action and litigation matters."
Persson has more than 20 years of experience handling data privacy matters and consumer class actions for technology companies, retailers, manufacturers, entertainment companies, insurers, health care providers and financial services providers. He focuses on defending litigation involving data breaches, phishing scams, wiretapping and the loss of sensitive personally identifying information. Persson has achieved success defeating motions for class certification and obtaining early resolution of common law claims and claims under statutes such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act and California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act.
He also has extensive experience defending claims under statutes including the Video Privacy Protection Act, the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 and California’s Customer Records Act, and has defended clients in false advertising, breach of contract and fraud matters.
Persson received his J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law and a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College.
