Kirkland & Ellis Adds Government Contracts Lawyers Brad Jorgensen and Andrew Current
"Kirkland & Ellis has hired partner Brad Jorgensen and associate Andrew Current into its Government Contracts practice to bolster M&A, compliance counseling and disputes work for government contractors."
Mr. Jorgensen joins Kirkland as a partner. He is a recognized thought leader in public procurement law with more than two decades of experience and a particular focus on assisting contractors in mergers and acquisitions, including the evaluation of key compliance considerations and related risks. He is ranked Band 1 for government contracts-focused M&A by Chambers USA and is a recommended practitioner by Legal 500. In addition to his M&A work, he litigates high-stakes bid protests before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, conducts internal compliance audits, and supports investigations involving alleged procurement fraud. He is based in Kirkland’s Austin, Texas, office.
Mr. Current joins Kirkland as an associate. He advises on the full range of legal matters arising under government contracts, including mergers and acquisitions, compliance counseling and contract disputes. He has experience directing and defending bid protests, contract claims, requests for equitable adjustment, prime/subcontractor disputes and investigations, and has led cross-border legal teams in more than 60 jurisdictions on matters involving foreign government entities and sovereign wealth funds. He is based in Kirkland’s Washington, D.C., office.
Both Mr. Jorgensen and Mr. Current joined Kirkland from DLA Piper.
