Perkins Coie Adds Commercial Litigation Partner Chad Colton in Portland and Seattle
"Perkins Coie hires Chad Colton as partner in its Commercial Litigation practice in Portland and Seattle; he will bolster the firm's trial capabilities handling high‑stakes commercial disputes."
Colton brings two decades of experience representing clients in high‑stakes commercial matters, including partnership, shareholder, breach of contract, intellectual property and licensing disputes. He frequently serves as lead trial counsel in bet‑the‑company cases, often joining matters in the middle of litigation or immediately before trial. Having taken dozens of cases to trial nationwide, he has served as lead trial counsel in several high‑profile jury trials in the Pacific Northwest in matters seeking billions of dollars in damages. His practice focuses on sports and entertainment disputes and also encompasses commercial disputes in the healthcare, hospitality, retail and manufacturing industries, addressing issues such as trade secrets, breach of contract and fraud. Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Colton was a shareholder at a Portland litigation boutique. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School.
