DLA Piper strengthens Global Fund Finance platform with lender-side hires

"DLA Piper hires Katie McShane as Head of East Coast Fund Finance and Jonny Byrne-Leitch as Of Counsel in its Leveraged Finance practice to bolster lender-side Global Fund Finance across subscription, NAV and hybrid facilities."

Katie McShane has joined DLA Piper as Head of East Coast Fund Finance, and Jonny Byrne‑Leitch has joined the firm as Of Counsel in its Leveraged Finance practice. Both will be based in DLA Piper’s New York office and will bolster the firm’s lender-side Global Fund Finance platform.

Katie McShane advises banks and alternative lenders on Fund Finance transactions with a focus on subscription credit facilities. She represents leading global and US financial institutions in their roles as agent, arranger and lender. Her experience across New York, London and Dublin provides a cross-border perspective and informs her counsel on public and private securities offerings and asset-backed finance transactions for banks, investment banks and private equity sponsors. She joins DLA Piper as Head of East Coast Fund Finance.

Jonny Byrne‑Leitch is a recognized advisor to both bank and non‑bank lenders in the Fund Finance market and strengthens the firm’s capabilities across Fund Finance and Private Credit. He joins DLA Piper as Of Counsel in the Leveraged Finance practice, deepening the lender-side bench in areas including subscription lines, NAV facilities, hybrid capital facilities and other GP finance solutions.

Their arrivals follow Fund Finance Partner Shana Ramirez’s move to the firm last fall, part of DLA Piper’s stated plan to grow its lender-side Global Fund Finance practice to meet increasing market demand from banks and non-bank lenders.
