CBA Welcomes Riccardo Guarino as Counsel

"CBA hires Riccardo Guarino as counsel to strengthen its Corporate Compliance practice, with a focus on enterprise risk management, D.Lgs. 231/2001 models, GDPR and governance."

Riccardo Guarino has joined CBA as counsel.

Guarino joins CBA from Iperal Supermercati, where he served as general counsel. He enters CBA with the seniority of counsel. Guarino is an expert in corporate law, corporate compliance and special regulations, with consolidated experience assisting companies and complex groups in the integrated management of legal, regulatory and organizational matters. In his new role he is also director of university master’s programmes and founder of the law review Ius in Itinere.

In the field of compliance, Guarino has been involved in the design, implementation and updating of numerous Models of Organization, Management and Control pursuant to D.Lgs. 231/2001, in conducting risk assessments, mapping sensitive processes and defining procedures, protocols and control measures aimed at preventing offenses and mitigating risks. In the area of privacy, he performs assignments as Data Protection Officer (DPO), supporting organisations in GDPR compliance (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), in adapting business processes and in the ongoing oversight of obligations and relations with internal functions and competent authorities. In governance matters, he assists management in defining and reviewing corporate structures, with particular reference to the management of delegations and powers of attorney, decision-making flows and internal control systems, also in coordination with the Organismo di Vigilanza pursuant to D.Lgs. 231/2001, in which he holds numerous appointments as member and president. He also provides assistance in corporate and commercial contracting, with specific focus on the management of procurement and relationships with suppliers and partners, addressing legal and compliance aspects.

The firm’s management committee said the appointment reinforces CBA’s presence in essential and increasingly central matters for the governance of companies.
