Christian Albanesi will join Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner, where he will focus on international disputes and arbitration.

Albanesi brings more than 20 years of experience navigating high‑stakes, cross‑border matters across Latin America and other global arbitral forums, with particular focus on the energy and infrastructure sector. He has represented multinational corporations, financial institutions and sovereign states in significant commercial and investment treaty matters before major international tribunals. Albanesi has held leadership roles within the ICC International Court of Arbitration and has served as an arbitrator in numerous disputes across the region. He is recognized by Chambers & Partners as a leading international arbitration practitioner for Latin America and is fluent in five languages, including Spanish, Portuguese and French.

His appointment enhances Simpson Thacher’s international disputes and Latin America capabilities and strengthens the firm’s ability to provide strategic, cross‑border advocacy in global forums.
