Alston & Bird appoints Cheryl Isaac as partner in Financial Services Group
"Alston & Bird has added Cheryl Isaac as a partner in its Financial Services Group in Washington, D.C., to advise on derivatives regulation, transactional strategy and emerging products including prediction markets, commodities, digital assets and DeFi."
Isaac advises derivatives exchanges, financial institutions, asset managers, trading firms, and corporate hedgers on derivatives regulation and transactional strategy. She has extensive experience negotiating ISDA documentation and counseling clients on derivatives transactions across asset classes, including security-based swaps. Isaac also assists clients with compliance under the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the National Futures Association, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and increasingly applies established derivatives frameworks to support clients entering unfamiliar markets.
Her practice focuses on regulatory and transactional issues tied to derivatives products, prediction markets, commodity trading, digital assets, and decentralized finance. A frequent writer and speaker on financial innovation and derivatives market developments, Isaac said she was drawn to Alston & Bird’s collaborative approach and the firm’s financial services and investment funds practices. She joins Alston & Bird at the partner level.
