Squire Patton Boggs appoints Michael Brady as partner in Corporate Practice in Perth

Michael Brady has joined Squire Patton Boggs as a partner in its Corporate Practice Group based in the Perth office.

Mr. Brady is an experienced corporate, commercial and securities lawyer specialising in the energy, mining and resources sectors. He joins Squire Patton Boggs as a partner from HWL Ebsworth, where he served as the national sector lead for energy and resources. Mr. Brady has practised corporate, commercial and securities law for more than 17 years and focuses on advising clients in the energy and resources sector on complex, often multijurisdictional transactions and a wide range of operational matters. He has extensive experience leading mergers and acquisitions, advising on inbound foreign investment, and structuring, financing and ongoing development of energy and mining projects. He also regularly advises on regulatory compliance (including foreign investment review board matters), tenure, access and approvals, commercial matters, corporate governance, equity capital markets and related issues.

Mr. Brady further advises on operational matters across the energy and resources sector, including transportation and infrastructure access and use; joint venture and joint operating arrangements; sales, marketing and off-take agreements; earn-in agreements; royalty and streaming arrangements; split commodity and mineral rights arrangements; and procurement, supply and other commercial contracts. He is admitted to practice in Western Australia, has worked at both national and international law firms in Perth, and served as General Counsel & Company Secretary of an ASX-listed mining exploration company in 2014–15. He is the current National President of the Energy Resources Law Association and holds a Master of Laws (Corporate, Energy & Resources) from the University of Melbourne, as well as law and psychology degrees from Murdoch University.
