Ecija appoints Jorge Martínez as partner in regulatory and compliance practice

Martínez joins Ecija from CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo in Madrid, where he served as counsel. He has more than fifteen years of experience and a practice focused on compliance, anti-money laundering, internal investigations and economic criminal law. He also specialises in the management of internal investigations and regulatory risk and has advised national and international companies on the design, implementation and enhancement of compliance management systems and crime prevention models. His experience includes advising multinational companies and listed entities on the implementation and assessment of compliance systems, control structures and risk maps in complex regulatory environments.
He holds degrees in Law and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid and has undertaken extensive academic and outreach work, including publications on compliance and anti-money laundering and co-directing specialised courses and training programmes for executives and professionals.
Ecija said the appointment strengthens a strategic area for the firm amid increasing regulatory complexity, corporate criminal liability and growing compliance requirements in highly regulated and digital sectors.
