Dechert Rehires Phillip Sacks as Managing Partner in Dubai to Bolster Financial Services and Investment Management Practice

Phillip Sacks has rejoined Dechert LLP as managing partner of its Dubai office.

With almost two decades of experience, including 14 years in the Middle East, Mr. Sacks has extensive expertise advising financial institutions, fund managers and sovereign wealth funds. He advises on the structuring and establishment of conventional and Shari'a-compliant investment funds, including private equity and venture capital funds, real estate funds, infrastructure funds, hedge funds, and credit and collateralized loan obligation (CLO) funds. He also regularly advises sovereign wealth funds and financial institutions on their fund investment and co-investment programs, and on the formation of regulated asset management entities in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), as well as the establishment of carried interest plans and other incentive schemes.

Mr. Sacks joins Dechert as managing partner of its Dubai office. He originally joined Dechert as a partner in 2016 and practiced in the firm’s Dubai office for over seven years. He subsequently served as a partner in the Dubai office of another international law firm and now rejoins Dechert. Mr. Sacks has been ranked Band 1 in Investment Funds: Middle East-Wide by Chambers Global for ten consecutive years and is recognized in The Legal 500 United Arab Emirates “Hall of Fame” for Investment Fund Formation Management.
