Howes Percival appoints Olivia Chalmers as Legal Director to Agriculture and Estates team
"Howes Percival has appointed Legal Director Olivia Chalmers to its Agriculture & Estates team to work on commercial and agricultural property and corporate transactional matters."
Olivia acts for a range of clients advising on all aspects of property law, including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, option agreements and conditional contracts, property portfolio management and secured property financing. She has a dual specialism in Commercial & Agricultural Property and in corporate transactional work, and is experienced in business acquisitions and disposals often as part of significant land and property transactions. She joins Howes Percival at the level of Legal Director.
Howes Percival’s Agriculture and Estates team advises on the management of landed estates and farms, tax-efficient structuring, agricultural property, development land and tax, and is noted for handling unusually complex landowning matters. The team supports the firm’s broader Private Client Services to provide a full-service offering covering the legal needs of landowners, landed estates and farmers.
Anna Spriggs, Partner, Agriculture & Estates, said the firm knows Olivia well and is pleased to welcome her. She noted Olivia provides pragmatic, down-to-earth advice tailored to individual clients and will bring experience to the firm’s farming clients, rural businesses and landed estates across Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and beyond. Spriggs added that Olivia’s property and corporate specialisms will be highly relevant as the team handles significant restructuring for farming businesses amid growing demand for their services.
