Alejandro Ferreiro joins Eversheds Sutherland as Legal Director of Labor Department

Ferreiro brings more than 12 years of experience in labor and social security law. He joins Eversheds Sutherland from Garrigues, where he worked for the past six years. His practice focuses on labor advisory across various sectors, with a particular specialization in corporate acquisitions and restructuring, negotiation of collective redundancies (ERE) and temporary layoffs (ERTE), and collective bargaining and labor agreements. His experience also includes managing disciplinary procedures, objective and disciplinary dismissals, legal defence in proceedings before labour courts, labour due diligence in corporate transactions, and advice on functional and geographic mobility. Additional areas of his work include international employee assignments, substantial changes to working conditions, senior management labour relations, and advising on inspections by labour and social security authorities and proceedings relating to surcharges for non-compliance with occupational risk prevention regulations.
A graduate in Law from the University of Barcelona, Ferreiro holds a postgraduate degree in labor and commercial legal practice from the Barcelona Bar Association and a postgraduate degree in Compliance from Pompeu Fabra University. He also teaches in the Master’s in Labor Legal Advisory at the Centro de Estudios Financieros (CEF) and the Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (UDIMA).
