FAS Advogados appoints Gabriel Freitas head of arbitration
"Gabriel Freitas joins FAS Advogados to head its arbitration practice, bringing 16+ years in strategic litigation and domestic and international arbitration; he joins from GE Vernova."
He brings over 16 years of experience in strategic litigation and domestic and international arbitration, which the firm says will strengthen its position in complex business disputes in Brazil and abroad. He joins FAS Advogados as head of its arbitration practice.
Before joining FAS Advogados, Gabriel worked at GE Vernova, a multinational energy company, where he was one of the conglomerate’s leading global litigation lawyers. In that role he led commercial arbitrations and large-scale strategic litigation, gaining practical experience from the client’s corporate and strategic perspective.
Admitted to practice law in Brazil and in New York State, Gabriel holds an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center with a focus on arbitration and dispute resolution and a specialization in Civil Procedure from UFRGS. He is currently a member of the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy – LATAM (2025-2027) and is a member of the New York Bar, the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), and the AMCHAM Arbitration Committee.
