Crowell & Moring Adds Partner William Reiss to Antitrust Group in New York

William Reiss has joined Crowell & Moring as a partner in the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Group in New York.

Reiss is a first-chair litigator with nearly 25 years of experience leading complex antitrust class actions and is nationally recognized for representing both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes antitrust litigation. At Crowell he will leverage his class action experience to spearhead direct-action affirmative recovery litigation for corporate clients and will serve as part of the firm’s Recovery Practice, working with a cross-disciplinary team to maximize recoveries beyond traditional class settlements.

He joins Crowell from Robins Kaplan, where he was a partner and head of its New York antitrust group, and is entering Crowell as a partner. Reiss has recovered in excess of $1.2 billion on behalf of clients in complex antitrust class actions and formerly served as co-lead counsel for direct purchasers in the Keurig K-Cup antitrust class action. He is chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Antitrust Law Section, is ranked Band 2 in Chambers USA for plaintiff antitrust litigation, is recognized by clients in The Legal 500, and was named an Antitrust and M&A Trailblazer by The National Law Journal in 2018. Reiss serves on the Board of Directors of the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, has undertaken pro bono advocacy including work related to the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, and holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, from George Washington University.
