RCD hires Javier Martínez as partner
"RCD hires Javier Martínez as partner in its Dispute Resolution team to work on insurance and reinsurance, including commercial disputes, complex litigation and arbitration."
He joins RCD from Cuatrecasas, where he was a senior associate, and will enter RCD with the seniority of partner. Martínez specialises in insurance and reinsurance and has experience in commercial disputes and complex litigation before the ordinary courts and in arbitration proceedings.
In the insurance and reinsurance field, he has advised leading market players on disputes involving contractual and non-contractual liability, coverage disputes, subrogation actions and the management of complex or mass claims. His track record includes matters linked to financial lines, including directors’ and officers’ liability and professional liability, workplace accidents and cybersecurity, as well as claims for property damage, general liability, environmental damage and defective products.
Martínez has also worked on disputes connected to M&A transactions, engineering and construction projects, competition law infringements, mass torts and agency and distribution matters, and has advised on litigation funding and related insurance for lawsuits and legal contingencies.
