Amy Roma joins Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe as partner in Washington to bolster nuclear practice

Roma joins Orrick from Hogan Lovells, where she served as Global Energy Practice Leader. She began her career at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). She enters Orrick with the seniority of partner, having previously held global practice leadership at Hogan Lovells.
Roma advises advanced reactor developers, fusion companies, fuel suppliers, investors, technology companies and major energy users on high‑stakes regulatory, transactional and strategic matters across the nuclear sector. Her work includes licensing and regulatory strategy before the NRC and the U.S. Department of Energy, commercialization pathways, fuel cycle development, project finance and structuring, and first‑of‑a‑kind deployments in the United States and internationally. She is also active in integrating nuclear energy with AI‑driven hyperscale data centers, advanced industrial and pharmaceutical facilities, and emerging space and maritime applications.
Her recognition includes being named the 2025 Most Innovative Practitioner in Technology by the Financial Times and one of the Top 10 Most Innovative Lawyers in North America by the Financial Times. Roma has been ranked in Chambers USA for Nuclear Regulatory & Litigation for 14 consecutive years and was recognized by the National Law Journal as a Top 50 Energy & Environmental Trailblazer. She has testified multiple times before the U.S. Congress, serves as a Non‑Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center, and maintains a robust pro bono practice.
