Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos appoints Cristina Olavarría as partner to lead Energy practice
"Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos appoints Cristina Olavarría as partner to head its Energy practice. She will work on energy-transition projects, M&A and infrastructure, joining from Consorcio Eólico."
Olavarría holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and diplomas in Tax Analysis and Planning from the same institution, and in Capital Markets and Natural Resources Project Development from the University of Chile.
She has a solid track record in mergers and acquisitions and corporate legal management, specializing in the energy sector and infrastructure projects. Most recently Olavarría served as Legal Manager at Consorcio Eólico, where she led strategic legal advisory on regulatory, contractual and compliance matters for wind energy, green hydrogen and other energy transition projects in Chile. Between 2008 and 2011 she worked in the mining practice at the firm.
Her appointment marks the first time a woman has been named to lead the Energy practice in the firm’s history.
