Vinay Prabhakar Joins Vinson & Elkins as Tax Partner
"Vinay Prabhakar has joined Vinson & Elkins in New York as a partner in the Tax practice, focusing on tax matters for infrastructure, energy and private-equity transactions; he joins from Global Infrastructure Partners."
Prabhakar has significant experience advising on the tax aspects of domestic and cross-border infrastructure, energy and private-equity transactions. He advises clients on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, financings, capital market transactions, derivatives and structured products, and has first-hand experience structuring private equity investments involving renewables, LNG, midstream and digital infrastructure projects.
He joins Vinson & Elkins as a partner from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), now part of BlackRock. At GIP he most recently served as Managing Director and Head of Tax, where he led global fund-level tax planning, portfolio company structuring and transaction execution across North America, Europe, Asia and emerging markets.
