Ashurst appoints Carmen Boothman as partner in RSSG practice in Perth
"Ashurst has appointed Carmen Boothman as a partner in its RSSG practice in Perth. She will work in restructuring, turnaround and insolvency, including secured lending and governance advisory."
Carmen is a highly regarded restructuring, turnaround and insolvency expert with deep expertise in secured lending and the banking regulatory environment. Her practice focuses on complex formal insolvency and restructuring processes, secured lending and securities enforcement, and informal turnaround including safe harbour engagements and corporate governance advisory work for boards of ASX-listed and large private companies. She is an experienced and effective advocate in contested Corporations Act and Personal Property Securities Act matters and regularly supports clients navigating significant corporate distress and transformation.
Boothman joins Ashurst as partner from HWL Ebsworth, where she had been a partner since 2022 and led a number of high-profile mandates, including the Brite Advisors matter. Ashurst's RSSG Practice Group Lead, APAC James Marshall welcomed the appointment, noting her strong market profile, technical skills in restructuring and insolvency and litigation sensibility. Carmen Boothman said Ashurst is a natural fit for her practice and that she is excited to join the team.
