Ashurst appoints Nezar Al Abbas as partner in Riyadh projects & energy transition team

Nezar Al Abbas has joined global law firm Ashurst as a partner in the projects & energy transition team, based in Riyadh. Ashurst has also recently expanded its Saudi offering with finance regulatory partner Raheel Butt and the relocations of senior banking partner Martyn Rogers and Arabic-speaking disputes partner Tammam Kaissi.

Nezar Al Abbas brings more than 15 years of experience in the Middle East. He advises on project finance and a range of other finance transactions and has worked on a variety of major project and construction finance matters for both borrowers and lenders. He also has a broad finance capability across syndicated lending and structured finance, including Islamic finance products. He joins Ashurst as a partner in the projects & energy transition team based in Riyadh.

Other recent additions to Ashurst’s Saudi platform include Raheel Butt, who joins as a finance regulatory partner; Martyn Rogers, a senior banking partner with over 30 years’ experience who has relocated to the firm; and Tammam Kaissi, an Arabic-speaking disputes partner. These appointments form part of Ashurst’s continued build-out of its Saudi Arabia offering and expanded Middle East team.
