Chris Jeanes joins White & Case as funds partner in London
"Chris Jeanes has joined White & Case as a funds partner in London, joining the Investment Funds and Global Private Capital teams to advise on fundraisings and secondary transactions."
Jeanes advises private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds and other investors on a variety of fundraisings and secondary transactions, including GP-led continuation vehicles and the acquisition and sale of large portfolios of fund interests. He joins White & Case from Akin Gump, where he was counsel, and brings more than ten years of experience.
White & Case said the appointment expands its Investment Funds Practice and Global Private Capital Industry Group. Chair Heather McDevitt said the hire responds to accelerating demand for funds advice from private capital sponsors and sovereign clients and strengthens the firm’s private capital team across EMEA, the US and Asia‑Pacific. Emily Brown, partner and co‑head of the firm’s Global Private Capital Industry Group, added that Jeanes’ experience broadens the firm’s capability to advise on its growing pipeline of complex, cross‑border work for funds and sovereign clients.
The firm has recently made a series of lateral additions to its global investment funds and fund finance capabilities, including the lateral addition of funds and secondaries partners Emily Brown, Alex Chauvin and Lavanya Raghavan (from Ropes & Gray) in London; Emmanuel Gutton (from the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry) in Luxembourg; Philip Sacks (from Dechert) in Dubai; Stephen Culhane (from Arnold Porter) in New York; Omar Hemady (from Pathlight Capital) in Boston; Eriko Sakata (from Linklaters) in Tokyo; and senior fund finance partners Emma Russell in London and Dylan Glazier in New York (both from Haynes Boone).
