Sidley Austin Adds Partner Peter Malyshev to Regulatory and Enforcement Practice in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Malyshev joins Sidley from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, where he served as Head of the commodity derivatives and CFTC practice and was a partner in the Financial Services Group. His practice concentrates on regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters involving commodities, digital assets, derivatives, and securities products regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
With almost 30 years of experience, Mr. Malyshev has advised U.S. and international clients on numerous transactions in over-the-counter and exchange-traded derivatives across a wide range of asset classes and markets, including banking, financial institutions and insurance; agriculture, energy, mining and emissions; transportation and infrastructure; interest rates and credit default swaps; foreign exchange, digital assets and fintech; precious metals; and securities. He also assists derivatives and commodity market participants in formulating risk management and regulatory compliance programs under the Dodd-Frank Act and CFTC/SEC regulations, addresses cross-border application of U.S. rules, and advises on compliance with self-regulatory organization rules such as the NFA and with U.S. and non-U.S. designated contract markets and trading facilities.
