Sidley Austin Adds IP Litigation Partners Greg Lantier and Alexis Cohen to Washington, D.C. Office

Mr. Lantier is a first-chair trial lawyer and experienced appellate advocate who focuses on disputes involving intellectual property, including utility and design patents, copyright and trade secret infringement, as well as IP ownership and licensing lawsuits. He has served as lead counsel for clients before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, U.S. district courts, state courts, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. International Trade Commission and in arbitration. Mr. Lantier also maintains a nationally recognized post-grant proceedings practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board, representing petitioners and patent owners in dozens of inter partes review proceedings. He advises clients on intellectual property licensing and on legislative and executive actions in Washington. Mr. Lantier joins Sidley Austin as an Intellectual Property partner from WilmerHale.
Ms. Cohen advises clients on complex intellectual property matters with a focus on patent litigation, post-grant proceedings and pre-litigation counseling. Her practice concentrates on the medical device and life sciences industries and also encompasses software, telecommunications, technology and materials science. She has represented clients before U.S. District Courts, the Federal Circuit, state courts, arbitration tribunals and the PTAB. Ms. Cohen provides strategic advice to clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations on building patent portfolios, defending against patent-related risks, crafting litigation strategy and analyzing business decisions. Ms. Cohen joins Sidley Austin as an Intellectual Property partner from WilmerHale.
