Baker Tilly strengthens its Tax practice with Fabian Maerz
"Baker Tilly has hired Fabian Maerz as a Partner in its Tax practice to work on international tax law, structuring and transactions."
Maerz is a qualified lawyer and certified tax advisor who will strengthen Baker Tilly’s advisory capabilities in international tax law, structuring and transactions and contribute to the firm’s tax advisory services, in particular international tax structures and M&A transactions.
He began his career in 2006 at EY in Munich, advising clients from upper mid‑market companies to DAX‑listed groups, and gained international experience through work at EY’s German Tax Desk in New York.
From 2013 to 2025 Maerz worked at the Otto Krahn Group in Hamburg, most recently as Head of Corporate Governance, where he was responsible for Tax, Legal, Compliance, Internal Control System (ICS), Internal Audit and Risk Management, and served on the management boards of two operating subsidiaries.
Together with Hamburg partners Christian Hensell and Matthias Chuchra, Fabian Maerz will help drive the further expansion of Baker Tilly’s tax advisory services in Northern Germany.
