Perkins Coie Adds Family Office and Tax Lawyer Mohsen Ghazi as Partner in Chicago
"Perkins Coie welcomes Mohsen Ghazi as a partner in its Private Client Services practice in Chicago; he will advise family offices and high-net-worth clients on tax, fund structuring and cross-border planning."
Ghazi counsels family offices, fund sponsors and high net worth clients on structuring tax-advantaged funds and family offices in the United States and abroad. He advises clients on forming, launching and managing investment funds, including private equity, real estate, credit and alternative assets. His practice combines institutional fund structuring with private wealth tax planning to achieve cross-border tax optimization, regulatory compliance and long-term wealth strategy. He brings experience with real estate investment trusts, qualified opportunity zone funds, insurance-dedicated investment structures and cross-border feeder funds, and regularly advises on income tax planning for high net worth individuals as well as on corporate transactional tax and partnership tax, domestically and internationally.
Ghazi joins Perkins Coie at partner level. He previously served as a partner in the tax practice of an international firm. Prior to that, he was deputy general counsel at a multifamily office and private capital platform for ultra-high net worth individuals, where he led tax, securities and product structuring for open- and closed-end investment vehicles. He began his legal career as an associate in the tax practice of another leading law firm. Ghazi earned a Bachelor of Arts from Kalamazoo College and a Juris Doctor from University of Michigan Law School.
