Andersen Italy appoints Daniela Sabelli as partner in energy practice
"Andersen Italy appoints Daniela Sabelli as partner in its energy practice. Based in Rome and active across offices (notably Milan), she will support corporate and M&A matters focused on energy, utilities, infrastructure, private equity and venture capital."
Sabelli will be based in Andersen’s Rome office and will operate across all offices, in particular Milan. She will contribute to the development of the firm’s corporate and M&A practices with a particular focus on energy, utilities and infrastructure, as well as private equity and venture capital. She joins Andersen from Squire Patton Boggs, where she served as a partner; earlier in her career she worked at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle and Simmons & Simmons.
A lawyer with consolidated national and international experience in corporate and M&A, Sabelli is regarded as one of Italy’s leading energy lawyers. Her track record covers the full energy value chain — from renewables to oil & gas and large infrastructure projects. She has advised government authorities, major power generators, multiutilities and financial institutions on complex M&A, joint ventures and project development, including in emerging markets, coordinating multidisciplinary teams on traditional generation, renewable and waste-to-energy projects. Her experience includes negotiating development and construction agreements (EPC and O&M), power purchase and tolling agreements, and advising on regulatory, environmental and emissions trading matters, including green certificates and feed-in tariffs. She has also handled corporate and M&A matters in other regulated sectors such as life sciences, healthcare, automotive and the blue economy.
Her appointment is presented by Andersen Italia as part of a measured growth strategy that combines selective lateral hires of highly specialised profiles with internal development and talent promotion. Andersen highlights the strengthening of its energy capability as a key element of development, alongside investments in creating and consolidating new practices, including healthcare and administrative law, to offer an integrated platform of legal, tax and corporate finance services to companies, institutional operators and investors.
