Orrick Expands IP Litigation Team with Three Partner Hires
"Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired Danielle Tully, Mike Powell and Josh Glucoft as partners in its IP litigation practice."
Danielle Tully, a veteran first-chair IP trial lawyer based in New York, joins Orrick from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where she most recently served as co-chair of the Global Litigation and Intellectual Property Groups. She will join Orrick as a partner and advises clients in high-stakes patent, trade secret, copyright, trademark and other commercial cases in the technology and life sciences sectors, including medical device technologies.
Mike Powell joins Orrick as a partner. He is described as an experienced litigator in the toughest U.S. patent districts. Powell and Tully have worked together for 13 years and together advise clients in high-stakes patent, trade secret, copyright, trademark and other commercial cases in the technology and life sciences sectors, including medical device technologies. Both Tully and Powell hold degrees in biology.
Josh Glucoft, an L.A.-based IP trial lawyer, joins Orrick as a partner. He has litigated patents in the fields of electrical engineering, computer science and medical device technologies in both District Court and the International Trade Commission. He was formerly a partner at Kirkland & Ellis and brings a technical background grounded in a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
Their arrival follows last week’s announcement of the addition of former USPTO Solicitor Farheena Rasheed. The hires join an Orrick team American Lawyer recognized as an IP Litigation Department of the Year finalist for the second year running in 2025 (fourth time overall).
