Morgan Lewis adds former OCC Acting Enforcement Director William Jauquet to Washington office

"Morgan Lewis has added William Jauquet, former acting director of enforcement at the OCC, to its Washington team. He will work in the firm's financial regulatory and enforcement litigation and investment management practices."

William Jauquet, former acting director of enforcement at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), has joined Morgan Lewis and will be resident in the firm's Washington, DC offices, working with its financial regulatory and enforcement litigation and investment management practices.

Jauquet spent more than a decade at the OCC in senior enforcement roles, most recently serving as acting director of enforcement. He began his career at the Internal Revenue Service as an economist. At the OCC he led the largest investigation conducted by a federal banking agency, pursuing a multiyear investigation and subsequent litigation related to the sales practices of a large bank.

He brings experience advising on bank regulatory examinations, bank service provider issues, supervisory and enforcement actions, and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, including matters before federal banking agencies. His practice will focus on advising financial institutions to prepare for and respond to examinations and enforcement actions and on providing broader regulatory counseling across financial services and investment management issues, including emerging technologies and digital assets.
