McDermott Will & Schulte hires Steve Knipfelberg to expand digital asset litigation and regulatory capabilities

He joins as a member of McDermott's crypto-exclusive team and will advise clients on litigation, regulatory engagement and strategic legal initiatives involving digital asset trading, market structure, consumer protection and cross-border enforcement.
Knipfelberg most recently served as Deputy General Counsel and Head of Legal for the Americas at OKX, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges. Before joining OKX, he represented financial institutions and other sophisticated clients in commercial litigation, creditors' rights matters and bankruptcy-related disputes at an AmLaw 100 firm.
His arrival underscores McDermott's continued investment in its fintech and blockchain capabilities and its strategic focus on supporting clients in emerging, technology-driven industries.
