Barclay Nicholson has joined Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton as a Partner in the Firm’s Construction & Infrastructure Team in the Houston office, arriving from Sheppard Mullin.

Mr. Nicholson brings more than 25 years of experience handling energy-related, construction, and commercial disputes. He will work on matters driven by infrastructure expansion, energy transition, technology-driven energy demand, and insurance issues. He has represented a broad range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to leading construction companies, owners, and general contractors, and has significant experience representing major oil and gas producing and refining companies as well as large drilling and exploration and production companies. He is widely known for his expertise in unconventional development and hydraulic fracturing, is a frequent author and speaker worldwide on unconventional oil and gas matters, and also has experience in the alternative energy arena. Mr. Nicholson has served as lead counsel on numerous commercial construction disputes, including significant matters involving high-rise residential and commercial properties. He has been recognized by peers and clients in directories such as Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Nicholson earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Houston and his B.A. from the University of Texas.
