King & Spalding Adds Intellectual Property Litigators Paul Fakler and Jacob Ebin in New York

Paul Fakler focuses his practice on intellectual property matters in the music, motion picture and technology industries. His experience includes copyright matters related to AI and machine learning, music licensing and copyright royalty rate litigation, royalty audits and payment disputes, high‑stakes copyright infringement disputes, fair use, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and related safe harbor provisions, copyright policy matters, and government affairs. He has litigated numerous high‑profile cases involving digital media and copyright and has extensive first‑chair experience before the Copyright Royalty Board and other royalty rate‑setting venues. Fakler joins King & Spalding as a partner from Mayer Brown, where he was a partner.
Jacob Ebin advises clients on copyright, antitrust, and other complex litigation matters, with a particular concentration in the music industry. He has represented public and private companies across industries, worked on several disputes that have shaped music rate‑setting law, and has tried four separate cases before the Copyright Royalty Board. He has also represented clients before the U.S. Department of Justice in its recurring reviews of the ASCAP and BMI Consent Decrees. Ebin joins King & Spalding as a partner from Mayer Brown, where he was a partner.
