Pérez-Llorca appoints Adal Salamanca as tax partner in Madrid

"Pérez-Llorca hires Adal Salamanca as a tax partner in Madrid to strengthen its tax litigation practice, including contentious tax matters and tax recovery for investment and pension funds."

Adal Salamanca has joined Pérez-Llorca as a tax partner in its Madrid office.

Salamanca joins from PwC España. He has a track record in tax advice to companies, with a particular focus on contentious tax matters and representing taxpayers in audit, inspection and penalty proceedings, as well as across the different appeal routes available under domestic and EU legislation. Throughout his career he has advised on complex matters, leading tax proceedings at all stages and levels of appeal. He also has experience advising European and non‑EU investment and pension funds on the recovery of taxes in Spain arising from their investments.

Salamanca holds a law degree from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and a master’s degree in taxation and tax advisory from the Centro de Estudios Financieros. He has completed various programmes and diplomas at business schools such as IESE and IE, and lectures at several universities where he teaches subjects related to tax procedure and tax offences.

He will join Pérez-Llorca’s tax team and work in close coordination with the firm’s other offices. His arrival follows the recent strengthening of the practice after internal promotions last December, which included the appointment of Antonio Ruiz and Yi Zhou as new tax partners.
