Buono is a chartered accountant and statutory auditor with consolidated experience in corporate taxation, with particular focus on the banking, industrial and agri‑food sectors, and on corporate reorganisation transactions. He has developed expertise both in professional practice and within the Tax Administration, handling controls, statutory interpretation and tax aspects of extraordinary transactions. He also served as head of the tax service of the principal agricultural representative organisation, developing deep knowledge of law and taxation in the agro‑industrial sector and contributing to legislative work and dialogue with the Public Administration.
Over the course of his career Buono has taken part in task forces and ministerial commissions, including working groups on the IRES reform and the adoption of IAS/IFRS, and has been a member of technical bodies of the ODCEC of Rome. He is the author of numerous articles and has published two monographs on business income and extraordinary transactions.
