Ashurst appoints Luca Lo Pò partner and head of Italian Financial Regulation team

Luca Lo Pò has joined Ashurst as a partner and as head of its Italian Financial Regulation team, a role that will operate across the firm’s Milan and London offices. He joins Ashurst together with senior lawyers Massimo Filippo Breviglieri and Marzia Laura Martinoli.

Lo Pò brings significant experience advising banks, investment funds, financial intermediaries and regulated institutions, with a particular focus on European and domestic regulatory frameworks including MiFID II, AIFMD, UCITS, Market Abuse, Short Selling, banking regulation (CRR and CRD), payment services, AML and insurance regulation. His practice also covers financial markets and corporate finance, having worked on fund formation, IPOs, capital increases, M&A involving regulated entities and listed companies, and domestic and international bond issuances including AT1 and Tier 2 instruments. He is admitted to practice in Italy and in England and Wales. Prior to joining Ashurst, Lo Pò worked at Dwf, Gianni & Origoni and Latham & Watkins. He joins Ashurst as a partner and as the head of the Italian Financial Regulation team; his arrival further consolidates the firm’s regulatory and capital markets offering at European level.
